Superman Arrived - January ‘07

DC Comics of New York commissioned Tom Kuebler to sculpt their iconic character Superman and his everyday persona Clark Kent. Clark can be found with phone pressed to ear in DC’s conference room scrambling to get the latest scoop. When crisis strikes, help is only a moment away as Superman bounds through their lobby ceiling. Both characters are life-size with silicone heads and hands, and their bodies are fiberglass and mixed media. While Clark wears actual clothing, Superman’s entire outfit, excluding his cape, was sculpted.

Tom was honored to be selected by DC Comics for this project, and he enjoyed the challenge of departing from his typically more macabre style and subject matter.

Superman, Clark Kent, and all related indicia are trademarks of DC Comics.
